It was one of my dreams was to become a popular blogger. When I started my first blog, the current stars of blogosphere were probably learning alphabets in kindergarten (slightly exaggerated). I discontinued each blog I started for different reasons. I was not happy with either blog design or subject chosen for blogging or my own writing quality. The result, I still do not have an active blog.
In 2008, my wife and I registered our domain names and started new blogs. As usual, I stopped blogging after a few days due to a variety of reasons. However my wife continued writing articles (though not frequently) and now she has got a pretty nice blog on self improvement.
Blogging is just an example. Many of my little dreams have become non starters, thanks to my perfectionism. Perfectionism is a dangerous trait. Perfectionists often plan things forever and ultimately end up failures. It’s a personality disorder which can lead to procrastination, frustration, depression and failure.
The truth is that perfection is a myth. If you wait for the perfect time, you will stagnate since perfect time never comes. If you want to do anything in life, do it now..
In case you are feeling lazy, my wife has written a nice and short article on beating laziness which you can read it HERE.
Though late, I have taken my decision to kill the perfectionist in me.
What about you? Are you victim of perfectionism?
